I am planning a Japan Architecture Tour to coincide with the UIA2011TOKYO
24th World Architecture Congress in Tokyo this September and October.
I was wondering whether you might be able to forward something on to people
who you think might be interested.
The UIA Congress will feature guest speakers such as Fumihiko Maki, Tadao
Ando, Kengo Kuma and Christo.
There are 2 options to choose from.
OPTION 1 – Sep 24 – Oct 8.
This is the 14 day tour which incorporates attendance at the UIA 2011 TOKYO
Congress followed by the fully guided Japan Architecture Tour spending 10
nights in Tokyo and 4 nights in Kyoto. The tour costs include accommodation,
ground transport and venue entries for the post UIA component and
accommodation only for the UIA component. Airfares and meals are excluded.
Registration for the UIA Congress is not included. Tour costs to be
OPTION 2 – Sep 30 – Oct 8.
This is the 9 day fully guided Japan Architecture Tour which commences at
the conclusion of the UIA congress spending 4 nights in Tokyo and 4 nights
in Kyoto. The tour costs include accommodation, ground transport and venue
entries. Airfares and meals are excluded. Tour costs to be confirmed.
In Tokyo we will visit art galleries and museums designed by famous
architects, we will visit architecture exhibitions where we can and spend
time in the architecture hotspots of Ginza and Omotesando to name a few. We
will visit Meiji Mura as well as the last 3 Frank Lloyd Wright buildings in
Japan, the Imperial Hotel, the Yamamura House and the Jiyu Gakuen School.
