GOSAN PUBLIC LIBRARY IN KOREA
Daegu Architectural Culture Confederation (DACC) and the Daegu Metropolitan City Suseong-gu Office launch an international ideas competition, open to architects and students of architecture worldwide for the architectural design of a public library in the Gosan district. Of an overall surface of 3,100 m2, this cultural complex will have a strong educational vocation and will also play a social and recreational role. The competition has the support of the International Union of Architects (UIA).
Kjetil Thorsen, Norway, will represent the UIA on the international jury composed of the following architects: Waro Kishi (Japan), Peter Berner (Germany), Kim, Young Sub (Korea), Lee, Jeong Ho (Korea) and Ulf Meyer (Germany) deputy member.
A total of 45,000 US$ will be awarded (1st prize: USD $30,000; 2nd prize USD $10,000; 3rd prize USD $5,000) in addition to 10 honourable mentions.

Deadline for submission of entries in person or by post: 10 September 2012
Deadline for reception of entries : not later than 15 September 2012
Announcement of results: 29 September 2012
